Historical trail
Every village has a story. St-Donat's legacy is closely linked to the forest and tourist industry. Visit the trails proposed by the historical society.
Over 115 bird species have be observed here. The humid terrain is home to many species of birds and ducks.
Summer and winter, it is a great place to practice outdoor activities or simply admire Archambault lake and the mountains. The sunsets here are famous! .
Over 200 kms of trail, that form over 80 different courses. For a quick hour ride or for a many day hike, you will have lots of options. And all this free of cost !
The Pimbina national park is situated 11 km from the village. Open year round, you can find bike trails, walking trails, beaches, snowshoe trails and cross-country skiing trails.
Many courses are offered in the region. Ouareau and Archambault lake trails and the Le Nordet road trail are the most popular amongst bikers.
At the top of Montagne Noire you can find debris from the liberator Harry who accidentally crashed here on October 20th 1943, during World war II.
The highest mountain in Lanaudière, second highest in the Laurentians and assuredly one of the most breath taking views within 90 km of Montreal. Only a few kilometers away from the St-Donat village and bordering lake Archambault and Ouareau.
Set up in the heart of the village, these trails are very appreciated by families. The Pioneer trail and the Nature-Étude path allow you to enjoy some fresh air!
