Here are a few helpful tips and reminders about the key aspects of winter driving:

  • Winter tires : Certified winter tires are mandatory until March 15, inclusively. However, it’s recommended to extend this period as long as snow is still present on the roads;
  • Snowplows : Keep your distance from snow removal vehicles ! Drivers of these heavy machines must manage numerous blind spots that make it difficult for them to see other vehicles. Maintain a safe distance and make sure you remain within the driver’s field of vision;
  • Mobile igloos : Make sure to fully clear the snow off your vehicle before hitting the road. Otherwise, you risk sending snow and chunks of ice onto the windshields of drivers behind you. Beyond being extremely inconsiderate, this behavior can easily lead to serious accidents.
