For travellers

A "Village-relais" is a town capable of offering varied services, both essential and complementary, to travellers that desire to take a break. It is also a great source of discoveries, if you want to extend your break-time to more than a few minutes.

A Village-relais is a town of less than 10,000 inhabitants recognized by the ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable (MTMD). It offers, with the help of its merchants, a variety of services and a safe and pleasant stop for travelers looking for a safe haven. In addition to basic services, a Village-relais offers touristic, cultural and natural attractions, giving visitors the option to extend their stay.

The Villages-relais are located throughout Quebec along national highways or tourist routes. The concept was developed to reduce the effects of driver fatigue and thus improve safety on the roads.

A strong network

The Fédération des Villages-relais du Québec was founded in 2009 by accredited towns who desired a common voice. Since then, the Fédération has overseen the development of the program and the optimization of the network's economic benefits. The official headquarters are in Danville, the first accredited Village-relais, and aims to reach 60 members by 2028.
