Historical trail
Every village has a history. That of Saint-Donat is intimately linked to forestry and tourism. Follow the circuit proposed by the Société historique.
More than 180 bird species have been recorded on the étangs trail. This wetland is particularly conducive to waterfowl (ducks).
Summer and winter alike, this is the ideal spot to enjoy an outdoor activity or simply admire Lac Archambault and the mountains. The sunsets are often fabulous and access is free.
Over 200 kilometres of trails spread across nearly 80 different circuits. Whether for an hour or a few days, there is no shortage of choices! Access is free.
The Pimbina sector of the national park is located 11 km from the village. Open year-round, it offers hiking and cycling trails, beaches, as well as snowshoeing and cross-country skiing trails.
Several routes are available in the region. The Lac Ouareau and Lac Archambault circuits as well as the Chemin Le Nordet are the most popular among cyclists.
At the summit of Montagne Noire lie the debris of the Liberator Harry bomber, which accidentally crashed on October 20, 1943 during the Second World War. A cemetery in memory of the victims is located nearby.
The highest point in Lanaudière and the second highest in the Laurentians, the resort offers one of the most breathtaking views less than 90 minutes from Montreal! Located just steps from the charming village of Saint-Donat, it is bordered by the magnificent lakes Archambault and Ouareau.
Located in the heart of the village, the trails offer different levels of difficulty. The skills park is a delight for children. The Parc des Pionniers circuits and the Nature-Étude trail will allow you to get a breath of fresh air!
Lasting 90 minutes, the animated cruise on the Saindon allows you to discover the events and characters that shaped the history of the village of Saint-Donat while admiring the blazing colours of the season. It is also an opportunity to take part in one of the activities of the Symphonie des Couleurs.
